Click on Start/Help and Support/Remote Assistance/ Invite someone to help. They will have complete control of your PC for as long as you give them.

You can go into microsoft help and suppport and there you will find the details of what your friend requires.
If your friend has PC anywhere and it is installed on your machine also he can access your machine with your permission and work remotely to fix the problem.
