Whether the cooker/hob is on or off, the light on the isolation unit remain always lit.
When the switch is push to the off position the light still stay on. What have I done wrong

On the back the terminals are marked LIVE and LOAD, the LOAD is the cooker

Sounds like you have connected the live of the neon to the permanent (incoming live), just put the neon live in the switch side of the isolation unit

You have reversed your wiring to the live and load terminals, which means there is a permanent supply to the neon lamp. Change both pairs of ends around and all will be well.

The light probably only means that you have a supply to the switch and not that it is switched

You've wired it in the wrong way around ..... switch the wires around on the switch and you should find it works as it should!
