AFC
1) New England Patriots - Look where they got last year with that talent... They just added Randy Moss, Adalius Thomas and some other key guys
2) Indianapolis Colts - Superbowl Champions always get atleast a top 2 spot... and people are making way too big of a deal on how many players they lost, they weren't that THAT good... and they will be replaced with ease
3) San Diego Chargers - If they could just get something out of their WRs and Philip Rivers can play on a consistent basis this team is a major threat
4) Baltimore Ravens - With that D every year they are atleast a threat... But that offense needs to be able to do atleast something!
5) Denver Broncos - That D just needs a pass rush from it's DEs... and the offense always has a great running game and that passing game looks pretty good on paper
NFC
1) Chicago Bears - Besides Lance Briggs being a dumbars... This team has just gotten a tee bit better
2) New Orleans Saints - The offense looks just as good as it did last year... and with a few acquisitions that defense looks a bit better than last year
3) St. Louis Rams - They are gonna be the "shock" of the NFC... Their offense is absolutely off the charts, not 1 weak position... If the defense can just play at an average level they will be a 12-4 team
4) Carolina Panthers - If Delhomme can just get back in his groove this team is pretty good... They improved on defense and offense through the off season
5) Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco, Atlanta Falcons & the Dallas Cowboys are all running for that last playoff spot... (Carolina might not make it as well)
---
So if I was a betting man...
I would go with New Orleans Saints & New England Patriots
My surprise Superbowl would be St. Louis Rams & San Diego Chargers
With the Chargers winning (whoever is in the AFC is gonna win)

New England - Carolina, though the odds will probably favor upwards of six AFC teams in winning the Super Bowl before the Panthers are listed......I see the Pats at a solid 4-1 to win it all and Carolina around 7.5-1. The AFC is like the Western Conference of the NBA - loaded with plenty of quality clubs - while the NFC has only a couple teams that - on paper - could make things interesting.

AFC will likely be the Pats or the Colts. It wont matter though, since the Saints are going all the way. Between the free agents and the draft, the Saints filled the holes they had on defense. The already loaded offense got a few additions too. They are returning 21 of 22 starters, they now have depth at all positions, they have had time to gel as a team, and they have learned Coach Peyton's system. I dont think there is a defense that can stop them. Saints will go at least 12-4, and win the Superbowl.

Vegas has the Patriots at a 2-1 favorite. I believe the Colts are next with a 9-2 line. As far as the NFC goes, I believe the Bears are still the NFC favorite according to Vegas.

I know it irritates people to see the Pats already crowned after losing to the Giants but in all seriousness, they still have Brady, Moss, Welker, Gaffney and Belichick. The linebacking core is old but through the draft they should be address those issues. Also, they play in a weak division, so I can pencil in at least 5 division wins (probably 6), and once again they have a favorable non-division schedule (KC, Arizona, Oakland, 49ers, and other alsorans) so you can pencil in at least 5 or 6 more wins which will lead to good seeding the playoffs. Now that we're in the playoffs (theoretically) if the Colts dont beat them, we have to hope Pittsburgh's running game is solid at that point in the season or that Jacksonville gets some real talent on the outside and gets pressure on Brady. Unfortunately, the Pats are still the favorite to win the AFC. I dont like it either (GO GIANTS!!) but it's a likely scenario and Vegas knows it.

The Pats have made some huge off season moves and they look like they may make another superbowl appearance. Now that Peyton has one under his belt, you can never count them out.
In the NFC, I'd watch out for the Saints. Reggie Bush is year more mature and may have a breakout season. The Bears' defense was enough last year but it won't be the case this year. The Panthers are good but I don't think they are consistant enough. Seattle could make things interesting.

Da Bears will miss Tank Johnson when Goodell suspends him, and Rex Grossman's career will continue to spiral out of control. The Saints have one of the best QBs around, a super double threat at RB and a developing young D, so I think they have to be the favorites to get the one more win they need to get into the Super Bowl. In the AFC, the Colts stood pat, and the Pats will overtake them when they straighten out Randy Moss. Patriots win by 7, due to their advantage on defense.

i would say new england patriots and dallas cowboys. that pick up the patriots did in getting randy moss is gonna make there air assualt damn near impossible to stop. tom brady is prob gonna be mvp of the league. now i just didnt pick the cowboys cause they are my favorite team, but because there defense is gonna be great this year. not only is greg ellis coming back but also damarcus ware (my favorite player) is gonna terrorize qb's all year, not to mention the other defensive linemen they got over the past 3 years. they are prob gonna have the defensive rookie of the year in anthony spencer. the superbowl is gonna be a very close call, but "dem cowboys" are gonna bring the trophy back to the nfc.

New England (stockpiled) and the Saints. Remember the Saints were close last year in the first year with the new coach.
