Also, sometimes the car won't even start, the security light comes on, and may not start for ten minutes, or 24 hours...I have changed the battrey, the alternators has been checked, and recently had the key igniton switch changed. The very next day it happened again!!! I was driving and out of nowhere, all of my dash lights come on, and the car just shuts down.
Then later the next day, the car starts right up like nothing ever happened. I'm at my wits end with this, and don't want to keep spending money for the wrong solutions!!!

I am not sure that the Body Control Module is the answer either. It cost me $300 for the ignition key switch and THAT didn't fix it. I and the guys at the shop are mystified as to what to do here, and I don't want to spend more money for the wrong answer!!!

I would also suspect a bad ground someplace. the engine to the fire wall strap is commoly left loose. The grounds from the battery area to the radiator support. The headlamp switch ground. One of the main grounds is loose and or coroded. It will take some time. Was the car in a collision? was major work done to the engine that someone might have had to disconnect a ground. It could be corroded, loose or have some paint under the bolt causing a bad connection. I have seen some flood damage cars develop these types of problems years after being "dried out" You are litterly going to have to check all the grounds in the power supply, fuse box, body computer, alternator, starter etc. It is grounding through the headlamp switch causing your dash lights to go on and triggering the anti theft system. Better known as back feeding. It will not be easy but thats what it is. There is no dought in my mind some stupid little black wire with an eyelet on it someone left loose, forgot to connect or is corroded. Its going to be a 12 or 14 gauge wire. I would look at the alternator, battery and starter areas first. If you see a black wire someplace bolted to the radiator support or the firewall wiggle it and check.

Something has come loose and is shorting out the board. (I had a dime that fell down into the dash on a car once and it did the same thing. Once the car was stopped, it would settle back down and the short would go away.) You need to take the dash cover off and look behind the dash to see what's wrong.

Check to make sure that the battery cables are correctly fastened to the terminals. A loose ground at the battery will cause this sort of thing.

YOU SHOULD GET THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED AND CHECK FOR ANY PROBLEMS AS WELL AS CODES AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT THE PROBLEM TRULY IS.

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.

you may have to get the car scanned, you may have a body control module problem, but i can not say that for sure. i read the purpose of the BCM in here yesterday, and it fits some of your problems. give it a shot, it could be a poor ground to it, or a short, or.......

Lose or bad battery cable. My 92 Bonniville would do the same thing. I replaced the battery cables and the problem went away.
