Hello Everyone. I got this problem and hope someone can help. When i connect a usb device on my pc (mp3 player, printer,PDA or my ADSL modem) and then turn my pc off leaving the device connected, when i try to turn my pc on, it won't start.
Well, it starts but stays stuck on the very 1st screen (PC info, RAM, DVD player, etc).
Anyone knows why this is happening and how can i get rid of this and quit connecting and disconnecting my usb devices everytime i want to start my pc?

Thank you all in advance

Hi. Modify your BIOS to only try to boot from your system drive. This will ignore any USB connected devices until it's in the boot process.

Have you updated your OS ?
It seems this file is required. usbehci.sys &
updspapi.dll ( this one downloaded with all updates).
This problem is reported after SP2 update.
I will give the Microsoft page later.

If you connect a new universal serial bus (USB) device to a USB 2.0 hub on a computer,
the computer does not detect the USB device. This symptom occurs if the computer is running
one of the following operating systems:• Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)
• Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack (SP1)
• Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 versions
Additionally, other USB devices that are already connected to the computer stop functioning,
and you have to restart the computer to detect the USB devices.

I'm not sure, but I would check my computer's setup to
make sure it was not trying to boot from the usb port.
