The reason the previous answerer's answers work is because volume is simply multiplying three numbers. Let's say those numbers are 2, 5, and 20. This would produce a box with volume 200 because 2*5*20=200. Now, if you were to multiply one side by 5, you would have (5*2)*5*20=1000. However, because multiplication is commutative, you can just write it as 5*2*5*20. Same thing goes for each of the other volume measures - (5*2)*(5*2)*20=2000 and (5*2)*2*(20*3)=3000. It doesn't matter which of the dimensions you double, triple, or multiply by 5, you will always get the same answer. You could even double and triple the same dimension if so inclined :)

V=a*b*c a, b, c are the dimensions

if a is multiplied by 5 the volume is 200*5 =1000 ftcube

if a becomes 5a and b =2b than volume = 200*5*2=2000 ftcube

if a =2a c= 3c than vV =2*3*200=1200 ft cube

The volume of a box is

V = L*W*H

where V is volume, L is length, W is width, and H is height.

If you multiply any one of these dimensions by a number, the volume also increases by that factor.

One measurement is doubled then the quantity is doubled ( 900m^3). If 2 are doubles then the quantity is 4 circumstances the unique (1800m^3). If all 3 are doubled then the quantity is 8 circumstances the unique (3600m^3)
