Absolutely not.

First and foremost, to the people that think terrorism is hate, you're entirely wrong. You seem to have missed the point of "terrorism"; it is someone or a group that instills terror into people to promote something, be it political, religious, or anything else. If I point a gun to your head and say "Listen to Paris Hilton's new CD!", I would be using fear and striking terror into you which would qualify me as a terrorist. Hate is not a necessary emotion to have although it does help.

Secondly, terrorism has been around since fear has been a known feeling. People have been intimidating each other into committing acts for thousands of years and it will never end. "The War on Terror" is like saying there's a war on happiness or depression; you cannot defeat an emotion. The will to make people fear in order to accomplish something is going to be around whether we nuke Iraq or withdraw troops today.

Most of all, for some reason Iraq and "terrorism" have become synonymous. That is a all-too-popular misconception. Look into the Animal Rights Militia. Look into the Red Army Faction. Even recently, there was an attack in January of this year on the U.S. embassy in Athens by a group known as Revolutionary Struggle, a.k.a. 17 November. Will any of those groups dismantle because of this War on Iraq, I mean on Terror? It would be ignorant to think so.

Hence this war being absolutely pointless and trite.

Terrorism is a tactic, thats like saying defeating surprise attacks...If you mean islamic fundamentalists, then unfortunately I think the answer is no.

Unfortunately, as this administration has said on many occasions its a global battle, which means that victories in Afghanistan, and Iraq (whether or not you believe if Iraq was a war of necessity) won't rid the word of fundamentalists.

Also, the military has also acknowledged that most of the violence in Iraq now is sectarian violence--Shite vs Sunni.
So I am not sure if peace broke out over Iraq today if it would end the existence of groups like Al Quaida

The invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism, and all it's done is provide a rallying point and recruiting ground for terrorist organizations.

The Iraq invasion has created MORE terrorists.

Besides, how do you define "victory" in Iraq? Bush as refused to seat any goals for troop withdrawals. You;re not supposed to go into a war without first having a definition of when you've won.

terrorism will be anywhere in the world no matter what. People think that the Iraq insurgents are the only terrorists, but what they don't realize is that the US has had terrorists of its own, such as Timothy Mcveigh. A terrorist could be Australian or British, or any other heritage, so if we win, it would probably end MOST terrorism in Iraq, but not in the world

No.

Terrorism existed long before the Bush regime invaded and occupied Iraq, long before the Twin Towers were attacked and destroyed, and long before Bush created the phrase "axis of evil". It was a part of the Russian Revolution. It was a part of the American Revolution. It's been around a long, long time.

And so it will be. Terrorism will be around long after America's left Iraq and a long time after Bush is gone.

Not over terrorism, but it is one small step for mankind. It will take years before we can wipe out terrorism, if ever.

Can we wipe out HATE? Not completely, but we have to do our best to keep the kettle from boiling over. The pot is simmering.

We have to take baby steps, before we can walk. Even then we will fall down here and there.

No.For every terrorist that is killed in Iraq 10 more will join the ranks. The war there has been the best thing imaginable for the terrorist organizations,Bush would have been just as well of running publicity ads for them on tv.

It's like winning the battle, but the war is still raging.

You cannot defeat an ideal. The enemy doesn't wear a uniform and doesn't openly fight on the battlefield.

There are probably "terrorists" in every country on the globe.
