The forecasts seem reasonable.

A projection is an attempt to predict the future. Plausible means believable, which are even more believable because they are "scientific estimations" which means guesses, but guesses based on science, making them more believable. I hope this helps.
P.S. I am not being critical, only trying to be helpful. I think you should write your question as "explain TO me". Adding in the preposition "to" makes your English sentence much better, in my opinion.
