acted like teenagers and hung out in a shopping precinct? And had a laugh and went in shops and tried on clothes and then sat in the precinct with a stereo and blast out some cool music? And would we still get told off / moved on for loitering? Would it still be like it was back in the day...?

Can I dress up as Gizzard Puke if we do this? You know the punk rocker Kenny Everett used to do? We could call our detractors facists and behave like Rick Mayell in the Young Ones, the eighties rock!

Am glad I was born to become a teenager in the 80's. Tried greasy hair way back then. Had mullets too. Twas the time when MTV was in it's early days and movies like 'Pork's', 'Revenge of the Nerds' and 'St. Elmo's Fire' were feel-good and date-material make-out background. And the boomboxes, tight pants and reeboks were must haves by some sub-cultures. As all said, twas a time of weird hairstyles, outrageous fashion (Cyndi Lauper, enough said)silly dancing (the pogo and slam dance to name a few) and GREAT MUSIC. Remembering the 80's is like a breath of fresh air as you step out of traffic.

It would be fun and I might even still have some of those clothes, since my daughter is wearing some similar stuff I could bring her and show her what is was like! But, unfortunately, it just wouldn't be the same...I know too much now. Still a fun idea!

we had an 80's themed new years party that was a lot of fun - but no, I don't think it would be the same as back in the day

Only if you had a Styx or Journey or Boston or Clash cassette tapes for your stereo! (I guess CDs would be OK.. not totally sure on that).
We could talk about when MTV used to play music videos and was cool, wow that was a long time ago!

Let's go to the roller rink too, and make out with our spouses-would they kick us out for PDA?
