My favorites
Fountains of Bellagio - Specifically, from Mon Ami Gabi's outdoor cafe at Paris, across the street from Bellagio. After 7pm the fountain show is every 15 minutes. Reservations required, call 1-702-944-4224 request to sit outside.
Top of the World Restaurant at the Stratosphere Tower - at sunset, the food is ordinary but the view from 800+ feet in the air is spectacular, as the lights of the strip come to life. 1-702-380-7711 the restaurant rotates 360 degrees once each hour.
Fremont Street Experience - shows are on the hour each hour after dark, until Midnight. >While you're downtown check out the Antiques, Artifacts and Artwork at Main Street Station - They have restored rail cars, a section of the Berlin Wall, stained glass & chandeliers from all over the world, the Bronze doors & Facade from the Royal bank of Kuwait. MSS actually has the best moderate price steakhouse in all of LV and it was built around the fireplace and sideboard niche from Preswick Castle, and on & on they have too many to list, but they do have a brochure which shows the location & tells a little about each object.
Mystic Falls at Sam's Town - is a really cool little indoor park.
Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay
Top of the Eiffel Tower
Masquerade Show in the Sky - Rio
The Carnival Court next to Harrah's
Volcano/White Tigers - Mirage
Lion Habitat - MGM
Shopping
Forum Shops at Caesars Palace >check out the Atlantis & Festival fountains while you are there, there is an aquarium at the Atlantis fountain.
Miracle Mile - Planet Hollywood
Grand Canal Shoppes - Venetian
Fashion Show Mall
The Forum Shops are far and away the best, I hate shopping and even I can hang out in there for a few hours.
IMHO the best shows are
Mystere at Treasure Island(Ti)
Section 203 has the best seats but 202 & 204 are not bad. for tickets 1-800-392-1999
Ka at MGM
Section 202 has the best seats for this show
1-866-774-7117 >both of these show sell tickets 120 days in advance, so if you want great seats I would call as soon as possible
There are some very good shows in LV at a very reasonable price.
Mac King - Harrah's - The tickets are only around $20 in the first place, but often times they hand out 2-4-1 coupons at the booth located in the Carnival Court next to Harrah's(just before show time is best) Harrah's has in the past given away 2 free tickets to the Mac King show if you sign up for their "Total Rewards" slot club >NO you don't have to play a nickel, just sign up. I can't guarantee this one but it does not hurt to ask.
Dirk Arthur - Xtreme Magic - Tropicana - $29 - but you can usually find 2-4-1 coupons for this show in the free LV magazines in your room or hotel gift shop.
Larry G. Jones - The Man of 1002 Voices - Fitzgeralds $22-$30 IMHO he's just as good as Danny Gans($100)
If you're interested in doing some gambling, specifically low limit tables and video poker. Let me know which game(s) you're interested in. I can tell you where to find the best places to play.
If I can be of any help at all feel free to e-mail me through YA. I know a little about the shows, buffets, restaurants, transportation, gambling, hotels, sightseeing, etc.
We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. Next trip June 6th - July 5th(30 days)
~Jack~
P.S. - Try to keep your (very fun) Mom under control :-)

If you are renting a car, there are several side trips you may take: hoover dam is about 20 miles away and is very interesting. another beautiful trip is red rock canyon, out charleston blvd, about 13 miles west of the city. in las vegas, you should visit some of the fabulous casino hotels, notably the bellagio, the venetian, wynn las vegas, and caesars palace. the forum shops at caesars are part of one of the world's greatest malls. there are so many sights--having lunch at mon ami gabi (paris), sitting at a table on the veranda and watching the fountains of bellagio across the strip--and watching the people walk up and down. fremont street experience downtown is also an amazing light show after dark. if you can stand the traffic, jsut drive the strip at night to experience the lights and sounds of the city. just make sure you use the rest room before you start because this might take an hour or two.

We go every year and every year we get on the plane to go back home and I mentally catalog every thing that I forgot to do or see; so this year, I too am making that same list.
Other than what everyone mentioned, if you are renting a car, I would look into visiting the Montelago Village in Lake Las Vegas (or Henderson) for a chill out afternoon. It's a old world inspired italian village on a man made lake about 20 minutes from the strip. From what I have seen and read, they have cobblestone roads that take you through the different (upscale) shops and restaurants. In addition to the pricy condos (where I hear the rich and famous stars live), they have a Loews, Ritz Carlton and a 40k sq ft casino out there. We are planning to go there late in our trip to have lunch at Comos and just take a break from the fast pace of the strip.
If you are interested in water sports, you can rent a sailboat, kayak or just go swimming.

Be prepared to do a little shopping, especially at the Forum Shops and the Fashion Show mall. The Cirque du Soleil shows are pricey, but should be seen once (avoid Zumanity... not great). In reality, just walking the strip and checking out the different hotels is great fun. Unless you like to gamble. Then by all means hole up in a dark casino.
