The Democrats said they would get gas prices under control and reduce the cost. This was a campaign promise. Pretty trustworthy group you got to admit.

The oil companies still give the lion’s share of their contributions to the Republicans. Regardless, the Democrats had better get it in gear. Now is the time to push for all of those Democratic proposals that kept getting sidelined by the Republican-dominated Congress, for years. The problem is that Bush will veto anything worthwhile but maybe even Republicans will see the light and help override his vetoes.

The price of gas has very little to do with who is currently in office. Prices are increasing as we approach summer, the peak driving season. Other effects are the refining capacity (remember we have not built a new refinery in the last thirty years), the price of crude oil, and most importantly the fact that people will pay $3.00/gallon.

It is normal for gas prices to rise in anticipation of all the conspicious consumers driving to their luxury summer vacations in their hulking SUVs with all the Al Gorian "save the earth by making sacrifices while I live in a huge energy hog house and fly around the country in guzzly private jets while telling rhe rest of you peasante YOU have to make the sacrifices" bumper stickers on them. I think they get carbon credits for having proper indoctrination stickers on their bumpers. Anyways, the rise in prices is due to collaboration on the part of the oil producers, but also due to increased demand on the part of people who dont want to make any sacrifices except for whatever sacrifice they make by complaining, and finally, the envionwackos, often supported by the consumers mentioned above, who have forced so many nit-picky rules and stuff onto the books it is now financially impossible to build any new refineries in the USA at all. . If there is a conspiracy, then EVERYBODY is in it. There are no good guys, unless its me. I dont consume much because I never have any money. Donations are accepted.

As far as gas price increase-- you mean after the election. Personally strongly believe President Clinton turned 9/11 down, but look who let it happen.

I've always said they were going to be our downfall. Since the democratics promised if they got in they would take care of the prices I don't see any demo's outraged that they lied!! You know the thing they have about our government telling lies,so how come this isn't a problem to them?

You found us out . We wanted to increase the price of Gasoline so that we could collect more taxes and in return use it to pay for mexican health care and the education of their children . By causeing gas prices to rise additional tax revenue is generated and thus we can help the poor mexicans and their kids who come here illegally .

I think you're grasping at straws. Wasn't it conservatives that got angry when people accused Bush of being responsible for increased gas prices? In the real world, you can't have it both ways. Not sure how it is in your world, however.

Actually, gas prices dipped after the elections. It wasn't until summer approached that prices rose (as they do every year at this time).
Let's be truthful, okay?
