I broke into my neighbor’s house over the weekend and demolished his kitchen. I started to rebuild it how I felt it should be rebuilt but I kept running into problems as I had no real clear plan of what I wanted to do. I got the electricity to work (a little) but I still don’t have the sink put in so there’s no fresh water. He keeps trying to get me to leave but I have no plans to leave any time soon.
Should I leave and let him get on with rebuilding his kitchen or should I stay and see what other mischief I can work?

You should be arrested for breaking in.
Then you should have to pay for the damage you did.
Your neighbor should be able to hire a proffesional , of his choice to dothe job .

I suppose other members of your family all voted that you should break into that kitchen. (Even family members that don't particularly agree with you)
I bet after you got caught in that kitchen those (other family members whose gave you the go ahead to wreck the kitchen) turned on you and claimed they never supported you at all, that you tricked them, or said they voted "against you wrecking the kitchen, before they voted for you wrecking the kitchen".
It must be very frustrating indeed, that those who once stood by you are now speding lies about you to everyone else in the hope that THEY get a new kitchen next November.

You should probably involve your neighbor on the process, let him make symbolic decisions and then do whatever the heck you want. After all you have to win his heart and mind.

Stay the course. Surge ahead to keep the home owner from interfering. Have your buddies come by and threaten him. You will be able to stay and steal all the goodies out of his house before you leave.

I'm sure your neighbor is going to love the kitchen when it's finished, so why stop there? I bet you could do wonders with the living room and master retreat as well. Go for it!
