DaimlerChrysler is a German--US company, right? And what's the relationship between DaimlerChrysler and Mitsubishi auto?

Chrysler is no longer Daimler as of today....lol
But if i recall right back in the early 90s Chrysler had a joint venture deal with Mitsubishi, Mitsubishi was building engines and even complete cars (such as the Dodge Stealth) for Chrysler.

Well, this morning DaimlerChrysler announced that it would be selling 80% of Chrysler to a private equity group, making Chrysler a mostly private company. Daimler (parent of Mercedes Benz) will maintain a minority stake in the new company.
