There was an 80s girl groups (could have been eary 90s) there name was something like a last name or two lastnames together. They were American and a video for their most popular song was set on a beach in black and white i think. I can't remember the song or the name of the band but I remember it was quite famous. It is killing me now being able to remember. One of the girls in the band was quite big or is big now. I remember seeing a documentary about them on VH1.

The song you're thinking of is "Hold On' by Wilson Phillips. The group consisted of the daughters of Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) and John Phillips (The Mamas and The Phillips). Carnie Wilson was the big girl but she was seen on TV promoting some sort of weight loss product.

The song goes something like, break free from the chains, and hold on for one more day. and I cant remember the name of the band though, but the one girl in the band's name is karney wilson. I hope some of that helps.

Was it Wilson Phillips? Their song "Hold On" was shot on a beach but I cant remember if it was in Black and White. "Release Me" was in Black and White, but I'm not sure if it was on a beach.

Wilson Phillips is more than likely who you are thinking about. Carnie wilson is the one who was big, she had the gastric bypass and lost lots of weight. I used to LOVE that group! :)
