Communication is interaction through the exchange of thought.

Affinity is a close relationship or liking of someone or something to the point of it being a passion.

Reality is coping or dealing with what exists minus expectations, delusions and attempts to glorify.

If you you have a relationship with these three ingredients it would be successful. None of them can exist without the other two.
