In order to generate a significant amount of power, one will need to build very large versions of each of these cells. They will likely be impractical for large scale application, but they will work for demonstration purposes to show that yes you can successfully build a working solar cell.

Probably impossible for you to do.

You need to get a small sheet of silicon and put thin leads on it using something like Gold Foil and even then it may not work.

You actually need two layers of "doped" silicon. One layer doped with Phosophorus and one layer doped with Boron. Then you attach the foil leads to the lower half.
