well, from what I have learned- and Egyptian woman has to have a man travel with her (if she is leaving Egypt) until she is somewhere in her 40's. the only way she can do any of this, including marrying without permission, is to do it by sneaking- but she has to be careful because she can get disowned or maybe even beaten if her family finds out.

In Egypt, anyone under 21 is considered a minor and has to do everything with parents permission, 21 or over is an adult. so yes she can travel without her parents permission, but why would she do that? u should advice her to talk to her parents and find a satisfying conclusion first.

legally she is adult and can travel and do all what she want but she need this permission as a sign of respect as the relations between family members are strong in most of Egyptian families

The parent-child relationship here is somewhat different than in the west. it's not accepted socially at all that a daughter do things like that without permission and against their will.
but, after all, it depends on this particular family and their relationship with each other.
Their are no legal rights, it's only moral, ethical and social ones.

I don't know the specific rules in Egypt, but at 21 years of age she is considered an adult and should be able to make her own decisions concerning travel or anything else.

maybe she can do all these things with out permission, but if she does this, will she be risking losing the relationships in her family. From what i have observed in egypt, family relationships are most important and if your friend disobeys her family and is estranged form them, in the long run i think she would be very unhappy. i would normally be the first person to encourage women to be independant, but i would also urge your friend to think very carefully about what she might be losing if she chooses this path.
