This is a difficult one for me to explain because I go back to a different era to most people who use this site. I remember as a youth I frequently travelled on steam passenger trains and although there were notices inside every carriage warning us not to put our heads through the open windows when the train was moving we did. This gave a wonderfull sense of speed.
The reason for the warning became clear to me one day when I got a hot cinder from the engine in my eye. This was extremely painfull and something I have not forgotten. There have been a few changes since those days.

A car windscreen which removed my left eyelid and half of my forehead upon impact... then to measure damage to my eyeball I had a needle in my pupil which shone a blue light through my blue eyeball.
I had to put my head into a machine with a bit to bite down on (you know its not nice when they give you a bitey bit)
I was told not to move my eye or it would snap the needle off in my eye... I kept very still.
All better now, 12 years of maxillofacial surgury and almost back to normal apart from a gap in my eyebrow.
Small price to pay really.

Oh and my sister flicked a raisin at me once and it got caught in the corner of my eye but that was easy to get out!

Bleach, that was very painfull, I had one of those spray ones and the spray wasn't working, stupid as I am had it pointing at my face, it suddenly worked and I got an eyeful. Luckily I rinsed my eyes with water so no damage was done, bloody hurt though.

I had a fly caught in my eye once too. Its so stupid yet so horrific. It got caught in my eye and because it hurt so much my eyes squeezed tighter shut and I couldnt open it to release it. I was going apeshit and everyone around me thought I had gone mental...
God, make me feel nasty just remembering it
