JFK's optimism was one of his best qualities.
His charisma and charm motivated Americans to be the best they could be. He was a skilled politician, strategist and tactician. He kept a cool head under some very trying times. He had the ability to laugh at himself and the upsurd which as amazingly refreshing.

His selfish indulgence was his worst characteristic, something people were able to overlook because of his fatalistic outlook. He lived with the knowledge that he could die anyday and he was close to death on many occasions due to his Addison's disease.

I admired him most for his sense of humor and his ability to speak to an audience. What a change from Eisenhower!! I least admire him for getting us involved in Vietnam and for his involvement with the Rat Pack (Sinatra et al.). He was far frombeing the "saint" that Cardinal Cushing tried to make him. In fairness, though, it was Kennedy money that kept the good old cardinal well taken care of for years.

Chow!!
