I got Firefox the other day, & one of the first things I noticed was how how poor the text looks (on this site particularly) compared to IE7. On Firefox, it looks like I'm typing on some cr*ppy old Amstrad, compared to the full, bold text I was used to. Is there anything I can do?

Firefox doesn't support RTF. You'll need to install the IE add-on tab

Cr*ppy text in Firefox means the particular web site doesn't adhere to W3C web standards, but supports IE specific data only.

All text in Firefox is completely configurable under Tools > options > Content then Advanced. Choose your fonts AND sizes. Then, uncheck the box that says: "Allow pages to choose their own fonts..."

Firefox does not currently support antialiasing of text sizes below 14pt for readability/performance reasons. There is currently no way to change this behavior. I also do not recommend unchecking the ability for pages to choose their own fonts/sizes, as this will break the design of well-designed sites.

You can change the size of the text by clicking on the 'view' tab and change text size or you can press 'ctrl' and '+'.
