well said dave s shopping and turning ur back is not the same as putting ur kids to bed and going out if the mccans had been in there room or in the apartment when it happened or had the kids with them it be a different thing. but they wasnt with them if the apartment had caught fire or the child choked would u be defending them as quick, i fell so sorry for then and the child but not once have they said that they should never have left them nor has the media

whilst sympathising with these victims of our sick society we mustn't lose sight of the fact that as parents they were neglectful of their responsibilities.

They chose their right to neglect the welfare of their kids in favour of looking after their own needs and now will have to face up to the consequences.

The parents made a huge mistake in thinking the kids were safe! This judgement they made will live them with them for the rest of their lives whatever the outcome!
I have four children and would never leave them alone like this for many reason, them waking up alone frightened, nightmares, chocking, sickness, wondering off alone to look for you and of course, the worst case scenario, abduction!
They were also irresponsible in not locking the patio doors that the abductor entered!
But as I said, these decisions were made by the parents, and we parents make decisions be it the right or wrong ones.
This does not make them bad, how many of us have thought and said "It wont happen to me", they thought the kids would be safe! End of!

Being a mam of a three old, my heart goes out to them and I and the rest of us can only pray for Maddies safe return!

there's no excuse for it, I heard a remark the different day that made me very stunned.... The sister of one of the mothers and fathers become on the information asserting that folk shouldn't choose the family individuals for leaving their infants as "the infants have been the main mandatory issues interior the international to them".... umm... that is honestly an entire contradiction of a assertion, it become glaring to me that their pizza and chips and a impressive "hassle loose" night with out their infants become far extra important to them! Why weren't their infants with them?? Why have been they left on my own, with out babysitter? Why? there's no excuse that they have got been 'interior reach' or that they have got been 'checking each a million/2 an hour' as they're meant to be looking after the infants yet that's no longer plausible while you're no longer interior an identical construction! If this were in England, say the occasion become replaced into somebody from a miles less wealthy background, then there would be an uproar.... think of a family individuals leaves their infants in a suitable floor flat and pops around the corner to the pub for some Sunday lunch - leaving 3 toddlers napping. One wakes up, beverages some bleach and dies. Now actual that's overlook? I do completely sense sorry for the mothers and fathers, they made a mistake, and its the worst ever thank you to income a lesson out of your mistake, they shouldn't would desire to bypass by using this discomfort and that i easily do desire that they have got their daughter returned to them properly and at this 2d in time are left to place all their power into looking her and staying reliable. I only think of they'd desire to hold their palms up and admit they have been incorrect to bypass away the infants on my own, and cease pretending that it become ok - cos its no longer. Ever.

Praying for her safe return x

Actually, no one has missed the point. Its all anyone on here talks about.

I completely agree that it was the wrong thing to do, and wouldnt do it myself. But lets wait and see what the outcome of this tragic story is before slating them. No one can make them feel any worse than they already do.

I just pray they find Maddie safe and well.

Missing the point? I doubt very much that anyone has missed the point.

I wouldnt leave my children on their own in a foreign country. We know it was a big mistake and so do they. Is it necessary to stick the knife in further.?

No one has mentioned this, but it is just my thought. Why hasn't the police interviewed the friends of the McCanns, why hasn't the police carried out house to house inquiries, why hasn't the police been interviewing the hotel, creche, staff, etc. It makes me wonder what is going on here.

i didn't miss this point. I think it's terrible that they left their kids alone but now the priority is to get maddie back safe and sound. Once they find her then questions can be asked. However, i think her parents will of learnt their lesson now

I see your point.

Just remember something, No one is allowed to give official statement regarding the circumstances of this case. Not the police, not the family and not the resort staff.
The only thing we know is that Madeleine is missing, and anything else is hearsay.

Negative speculation is unhelpful and unnecessary.
