I just read the response of Shrink. I have no idea where he lives. In Michigan, every town does NOT have at least one food bank, community kitchen, homeless organization or human services agency. It wouldn’t matter if they did. If you do not have money for food, you do not have money for gasoline.
Have you seen the amount of homeless in the America. How many of our veterans are displace or homeless? How many of our elderly are homebound, forgotten and unable to drive.
When are Americans going to step up to the plate and say ENOUGH. Americans will be taken care of. It is each and everyone of our duties to make sure our neighbors are getting basic necessities.
We as a nation have to begin looking out for ourselves as well. We have people that have fought for our nation, allowing us continued freedom, that are homeless, neglected and starving.
We have senior citizens that are neglected, homebound, starving, freezing in their homes because they cannot afford heat.
We have children that are homeless, in over-crowded foster homes and leaving in homes most of us wouldn’t house a animal in.
Community kitchens, homeless organizations and human service agencies are a band-aid. Wake up and face the fact there is blood pouring through these band-aids.
We need permanent solutions. Such as, community outreach programs. Program that are not in existence yet. We need people to seek out homebound and homeless people to offer services.
We as Americans need to force a solution for our own, before we continue trying to save the rest of the world. Our president does not care about the common person. His concerns are with the people in power with the big bucks. President Bush is already the most hated president of all time. The majority of Americans do not like him and the rest of the world dislikes him as well.
Americans have always tried to help others nations. It is our responsibility as a larger nation to set an example. We need to do that more within our own country. We are like the older sibling watching out for the little ones. We need to watch our for our own little ones as well as that of our neighbors.
We need to do what we believe is right and forget trying to please the world. By we, I mean the majority not President Bush Oil buddies.
I am so sick of seeing Americans in denial to what is around them. Does everyone have President Bush syndrome? You know the only cure for it is to get home out of office!
I want to apologize to Paolo M for using his answer section for my melt down and to the others posting or reading his question.

Why should we feed them at all? when was the last time you heard of an African nation coming to help us? were they here when Rita hit? were they here to help with out forest fires, our tornadoes? I think not. Only one Country ever helped us during our time of need, England.
We have our own people to help. Have you ever been to Appalachia, the Indian Nations in the West, The Eskimo villages and the Indian villages in the North?
Oprah may get a lot of coverage with her African friends and what she gives them, she made the remark that American children were "spoiled" but, I'll bet she's never seen this side of America. Few have. The American Idol brags about what they give to Africa, what about there own Country, they've turned their backs on their own people, you heard very little about the starving here. Look before you make any comments.

America feeds itself with smaller nations even if America is not starving.Usually the results are before that happens, when those countries starve with the unfair Trade brought unto them by our World Circus stocks exchanges.

by america, do you mean our government, or the american people? individually, good kind people of all nations have always done what they can to help the poor in any and all other countries. Our government, however, will take the initiative only when we will benefit, as it is a business to control and enlarge our finances. if you want america to feed other countries peoples, you will need to ask america, and if you can ask long enough, and loudly enough, you might get some aid scraped together while there are still a few starving people a world away to feed. otherwise, look to your own backyard, as there is always at least a starving yard dog you can feed, who might feed another next to him, and on and on. theres no shortage on starving, go forth and instead of multiplying, just cook the guy some dinner, eh?

All nations only feed other countries when they are starving, not just the US. What would be the point of feeding them if they have food?

Conversion and cloth needs are frequently blended. you spot it in the present day, and this is one way that 'christianity' has been unfold via many areas of the international. various that "christianity', however, remains muddled with the unique faith, and thereby nullifyed. In Mexico, working example, Catholicisim is blended with interior reach worship, surprisingly glaring in the Day of the ineffective. that's a carry-over from their unique perception, in basic terms painted with a 'christian' brush. in the Southern us of a, you spot 'christianity' blended with voodoo faith, ensuing in a mix that's complete of spiritistic practices. Jesus taught a organic faith-one no longer muddied up with old traditions. except christianity is taught this way, and stored sparkling from pagan practices, it is not probably christian. this is contaminated. this is completely organic that those in dire choose would be grateful adequate for having their actual needs met, that they are going to settle for, a minimum of to the givers' face-something they say, as long via fact the help keeps. Then they flow homestead, and pull their idols out from decrease than the slumbering mat, and worship as they have continuously completed. coaching reality should not be contingent on actual needs. actual christianity is giving help every time available, no longer basically to those keen to 'convert'. Jesus did no longer set up soup kitchens or orphanages, however. there have been particularly some homeless and hungry in his day, too, yet his substantial concentration advance into on preaching approximately his father, and the desire for the destiny devoid of starvation and choose. to transform via bribing is like marrying for money. How could you ever comprehend if somebody fairly enjoyed you or in the event that they married you via fact you have been wealthy? could they have married all of us else for an analogous reason? Now in case you married somebody throughout the time of the 'macaroni and cheese' years, and mutually you grew to become sucessful, you would be able to desire to be surprisingly specific your marriage advance into in line with love. Any charity giving actual help could have the sting, whilst it includes 'conversions', and christian religions emphasize charity.

I think America expects people to feed themselves. Particularly the people in OTHER countries.
In fact, America expects her own people to feed themselves.
ADDED: To the person who said that Americans don't feed their own starving, that is just bs. Every town has at least one food bank, community kitchen, homeless organization or human services agency. Anyone who is starving in the US is choosing to starve.

We feed them when they're starving because we are a good country. Should we be feeding them otherwise also?
We're used to feeding countries and being hated by them. How do you feel about us?

Why would we need to feed them if they are not starving? Up until that point they are expected to find ways to help themselves...we step in when it becomes obvious that they have failed to find a way to feed their own people to the point of widespread death and disease from lack of nutrition.
People can't have it both ways...we either interfere too much or not enough or soon enough...make up your minds...

You go Nobody. Conservative are unwilling to "get it". They seem to think because they are well off and their friends are, we all are. Not all of us have oil well on the back 40.
We need to take care of people here. Afterwards we can help the rest of the nations in need. We tried to help Iraq, or at least that is whqat Bush claims. Look hoe well that has turned out for us.
