6/9 and 2/3
you can multiply 2/3 by 1 to get 6/9, so they are equivalent
6/9 = 2/3 * 3/3 and 3/3 = 1

150:15 and 3:1
150/15 does not equal 3/1, because you can't multiply 3/1 by 1 to get 150/15
3/1 = 150/50 or 45/15

24:4 and 72:8

24/4 does not equal 72/8 because you can't multiply 24/4 by 1 to get 72/8
24/4 = 72/12 or 48/8

1) 6/9 and 2/3

6/9
GCF is 3
6/3 = 2
9/3 = 3
6/9 = 2/3
2/3 = 2/3
The ratios are equivalent
2)
150/15 and 3: 1
150/15
GCF is 15
150/15 = 10
15/15 = 1
150/15 = 10: 1 not equal to 3: 1
Not equivalent ratios

3) 24/4 and 72/8

24/4
GCF is 4
24/4 = 6
4/4 = 1
24/4 = 6: 1

72/8
GCF is 8
72/8 = 9
8/8 = 1
72/8 = 9: 1 not equal to 6 : 1
Not equivalent ratios

Divide numerator and denominator by 3 to make 6/9 = 2/3

If you divide numerator and denominator by 10, 150/15 becomes 10/1, not 3/1

24/4 is actually 6 if you divide num and denom by 4. Whereas 72/8 is 9 if you divide both by 8. Not equivalent.
