immigration figures. Some authoritities such as Westminister and Slough have reached saturation point and are in dire straights.

When is this government going to implement tighter controls over immigration and entry to a country that is already swamped and over flowing in some places.

Yes I know the spread is all wrong but do you imagine that anyone living in the Cotswolds would welcome migrants with open arms....no they would complain vehemently. So it is the few again that have to bear the brunt of immigrations.

I am not racists it just that everything is suffering because of the demands on public services in some areas.

Please listen Gordon...Tony hasn't.

What are your thoughts on this matter. Please do not rant about Britain for the Brits lets us have sensible discussion on how this issue can be resolved.

We have 2 main issues -

One is that, basically, all citizens of countries in the EU are supposed to be allowed choose where they wish to live and work in any other country in the EU.

The second is that most the the 'western' European countries have elected to fund extremely expensive social benefits for those living in the country.

This has led to higher standards of living and things like the minimum wage - but also higher taxation - and (in my opinion) a general view by the citizens that things you don't pay for are 'free' (so people with flu queue in Doctors waiting rooms and the slightest sprain or bruise justifies a trip to the hospital) - or 'worthless' (as in most peoples view of our education system).

The combined effect is that, quite naturally, those in Countries where these benefits (such as minimum wage, free health care) are not provided, more to countries where benefits are available .. and on arrival discover that the citizens are willing to employ them 'no questions asked' (in order to avoid paying VAT and Tax).

Whilst these differences exist, people will continue to move to find a better life, better job, better standard of living and better opportunities for their kids.
