The diagnostic lights say the memory isnt installed right but ive had this computer for 2 years now, also i did check the ram was firmly in place, and it does boot properly sometimes but it seems to be just random chance. When it does boot to windows tho it can last newhere between 5mins and 10hrs before it freezes and i have to power down.. any ideas cos ive done all the diagnostics i can and theres no one that can even hint at what might be wrong here..

Remove the ram then put it back and make sure it is seated good, if you installed any software or drivers lately remove that. clean the fan so the processor does not over heat.

remove the ram.

Use a blower to clean your pc. Dust and build up and create cakes. This may cause the ram to be not properly seated.

Look for an eraser. use the eraser to clean the the contact. The gold part that goes in to the slot. Re seat it properly back into the slot.

Reboot.

You can also check the voltage by opening the bios. Check if the voltage is stable. See if the voltage goes to red. If it goes to red, its either your power supply is failing or your power supply is underpower.

You should also check the temperature of your cpu. there might be some problem with you fan that is why it freeze. which can also be cause by a failing power supply, because this will cause you cpu fan to fail also.
