Yourself, until one can love oneself it is nigh on impossible to really love anyone else.
It is not a narcissus thing, not about ego, arrogance or any other superficial emotion, but about self worth and dignity, about a true sense of self esteem and valuing oneself as an individual, then one is free to love others, be they soul mates, children, parents or friends etc.

your mum! shes carried you for 9 months inside her then gave birth to you then raised you. Even though you may not realise it your mums love is forever and you will always have a friend in her! tell her you love her and see how she smiles! It will make her day!!
