Nothing, most of them have too much unnecessary or unusable crap on them already.

A facility where it could drive itself , I know this is not that far from becoming a reality on motorways, but it would be nice if you could have it as a feature anytime...I would still want to drive myself, but on long journeys or at night it would be a good feature. Also perhaps a car which could change its shape, from being say a two seater when needed and a four seater when needed, by extending or narrowing its construction.....sometimes I do need a single seater and sometimes a 7 seater, so obviously I bought the seven seater rather than 2 cars....all the best...PS You never answered my question on speed cameras a little while ago....

An off switch for the climate control, so I could just have fresh air.
My previous car (a 1997 Rover 200) had a slider that allowed air to bypass the heater to the face-level vents - a brilliant idea that no-one else seems to fit.
A flat-folding passenger seat would be good too, for carrying long loads (flat reclining would be a suitable substitute).
A wheel-type adjust for the seat backrest, rather than the lever system, as the ideal angle for me is part-way between two of the settings the lever allows.
MP3 compatibility for the stereo, preferably by USB socket.

I would have a feature - on all vehicles in fact - whereby a sensor would detect the vehicle in front and as the rear one drew closer it would slow both vehicles down until a safe speed was achieved for whatever distance remained. In other words, if a driver selected - as so many often do - a distance of one meter, say, then the maximum speed available would be about 2mph.
If the driver required more speed, he or she would have to back-off accordingly.
The feature could have two settings: the one so far described would be 'auto'. And a 'manual' setting would, at the flip of a switch allow the front vehicle to proceed at it's driver's desired speed, but would kill the rear one's power, keeping it no nearer than a safe distance for that speed.
Quite apart from the obvious road safety and reduced stress benefits, this would have other benefits.
For example, journey times would be reduced because it would reduce traffic jams, particularly at major junctions, which - and their associated trunk roads - function with reference to fluid mechanics: lots of vehicles all arriving packed together at a junction slows the junction to a crawl. Whereas the same number arriving with respectable intervals allows it to function smoothly.
Another benefit - and this would be the 'pay-off' for the moaners - would be that speed limits on trunk roads could safely be increased quite a bit.

Better tyre Grip in the snow and icy conditions. Low profile tyres and the much broader treads now used leave many motorists floundering in such conditions.
There are of course snow tyres and a variety of tyres that are constructed for such use but in The UK snow is only an occassional few days a year problem and the cost of buying tyres for a few days use would be prohibitive
My car has Traction Control but its useless getting up hills especially if trying to get up in a higher gear, I find I can get up these hills by switching traction control off and using a higher gear1 Maybe limited slip differentials would be better than traction control!
This problem increasingly applies to HGVs which now using low profile etc tyres!!

Some sort of police warning system. the radio/CD to cut out when ambulance/fire police sirens are closing on you.
This would be especially useful for younger boom box drivers if compulsory.
Near future a hanD's free smoking aid. (bast*%ds you wont be able to smoke at home if they ban it in cars)
Auto pilot proper would be ok like the ads
then we could smoke, phone and even fornicate(smoked glass permitting)
I think i would also like my car to display a green card with miles to gallon on its rear so we all know which car does what, maybe a plate that states if your a farmer or chelsea tractor, just so we know whos guzzling, sod it lets go the whole hog and have a scoring system out of 10 say.
1 = to tree hugger 2=to green 3=to efficient 4=to moderate 5=to self indulgent 6=to don't mind paying large sums in tax 7=to i don't give a hoot if we invade to grab oil 8= it weren't me that f*cked the environment but its too late now 9=I'm stinking bloody rich so i will off set my carbon footprint by paying some other guzzler to drive huge machines across fields planting acres of trees 10= o p*ss off i only live once.

My car is an M reg, 100NX which I bought when I retired in 1995.
I love her to bits still (only 15,000 miles on) but wouldn't it be lovely if I could wave your wand whenever I wanted the roof open, and the two roof pieces would put themselves away tidily in their little bags?
Can't have a soft top because she is parked overnight on the drive and might receive unwelcome attention from knife wielding brain-deads.

The ability for a car to drive itself from A to B with human input being as little as possible. We have GPS systems, and also intelligent braking systems and anti collison systems. So why cant a car that 'drives' itself be made? Using all these systems together, in theory it could drive itself can't it?
BMW have been testing a car that can park by itself simply by bushing 1 button, so they can't be far off, can they?
The wonderful world of technology....

I drive a TT 163 Roadster. What would I like - 0-60 in 5 secs,
60 mpg, bigger boot to accommodate my golf clubs - otherwise the car is fantastic.

The ability to be fixed at the roadside. The modern tendency to have to trailer to a main dealer is unacceptable and, of course defeats the object of making them more fuel efficient.
