I am always barefoot, and because of it I have thick skinned soles which make it possible for me to walk on hot surfaces without a problem.

Yes, I have done that. I guess I was tough too, because I tolerated the blistering pain without yelling or jumping about from one foot to the other. And to think I answered a question yesterday saying I had never walked on hot coals barefoot, lol.

Only time I've ever stood on something hot was the metal deck plates of a ship but I could just handle that. It doesn't get that hot here; temps hit the 100'sF here last year for the first time in my life, and only for a few days. Those days the pavement was just starting to get sorta hot, but not so I was afraid of burns or great discomfort yet.

Whenever possible, even during mid-afternoon peak heat hours. I always stand first to absorb as much heat as the parking lot can transfer to the feet and burn them almost painfully, then I start walking slowly to retain much of the heat with each step, then I'll stop now and then for the feet to get more burning hot heat before walking once again.
