Its all about the pecking order. One chook is dominant over the others and there is a constant battle to see who will be the leader there is constant jostling with the other chooks to keep their positions and not to be on the bottom or rather at the end of the line. Children are a bit the same if you can pick on some one who has a problem in some area then it will keep you from being at the bottom or deflect attention away from you. Others will join in with the bullying just to be accepted by the group. It may go back to the old survival of the fittest thing or perhaps some children are just plain nasty.

There are a number of reasons. Children who bully need a sense of control that they can't get at home or school. They choose kids who are younger or weaker then they are. They bully to get attention or they bully because they are abused at home and can't cope so they take it out on someone else. Some do it just to become popular at
school. It is considered an "in" thing. Bullying is becoming worse and there is
very little the schools can do to stop it. The
laws just aren't in place to stop it. The so called " zero tolerance" act doesn't work.
This Act just enables the bullies and aids them in their bullying. We need another solution.

because they seem weaker. i bullied a lot in the 1st grade until 4th grade because i was taller than other so if i got mad at some other kids, i would kick their butts. i pretty much beat up my whole class, but they didn`t mind, we were friends.

because they have low self esteem, you ought to believe in yourself more than anyone else, dont let anyone define whom you. learn to define whom you are.
