Does anyone know what brand this 500w psu is on my 2nd rig? The only significant details I see aside from the voltage tables are:

- Model: LC-B500E (I don't know whether this is a standard code regardless of brand/manufacturer)

- A big red letter "I" symbol with 5 horizontal bars on top of it

- switching power supply next to the symbol (although this isn't really useful)

So far it has been working fine for about 8 months now but I need to know if this thing is reputable and has redundancies for those unsettling power anomalies so that I could just leave it as is.

Yous is a Merktek, I found it on www.jimcoservices.com.
PS operations I have found depends on what your needs are going to be, You sound like you know what you are doing in how you asked your question. The higher the price of your PS usually will have all the necessary redundancies, and backups to sustain proper voltage levels while computing. If your particular PS has been working fine for this long of time then
you should be fine, if you have been over-working it for 8 mos., without issues then you should be fine, just remember to clean the PS with air so that it continues to keep it cooling it's internals efficiently. If your looking to get another PS then you'll have to research that, but the above web site may help you if you need further questions asked, I hope this helps.

It is one of those generic power supplies that is usually bundled with computer cases. I have an old LC-B300 that is still working well.
There are NO certification marks such as UL, TUV, FCC, CE, Nemko etc. So do not expect it to be fully compliant w/ standards like the branded ones (Enermax, Antec, Seasonic, Coolermaster, HEC, etc.)

Most power supplies run cooler and last longer if load is less than 80%.
