Most Americans don't care. They are too busy being self centered and consumed with their empty shallow materialistic lives.

Do Americans, as a whole, care what the world's opinion of them is, or Do I, as one American, care what the world's opinion of me is? I'm confused about your question, since I'm an American and not a person from a monoculture society (like every other society out there), where asking all of the people from the society if they care what the world's opinion of them is possible.
If you're asking if I care what the world opinion of me is as an American, I'd have to say, sometimes I care and sometimes I don't. It depends on what the opinion is. If the opinion falls in the lines of racist assumptions or generalizations like, "Heh, heh, American women can't raise kids, like we can," and a person's expecting to get me to agree with them, I'd probably not care. Now, if the opinion falls in the lines of sincerity and kindness, like "Americans are just so sweet, sometimes. A lot of them try their best to get to know our cultures and our lifestyles, while we never move an inch and don't even know where N.Y. is in America, and it's a joy to have them on the earth as other human beings." I'd care.
I hope this was helpful.

In general, no. They chalk up the dislike of their government and foreign policy to school yard mentality, "they hate us because they are jealous", as they have been taught this since elementary school. Of course the majority of Americans never leave the USA (even for Canada or Mexico) and they don't really know the truth or the world around them. They not only don't care what other opinions are of them, they don't really care at all about other nations peoples.
I for one am an American who does care about the WORLD around me not just my neighborhood. People need to start having a societal concern not just a selfish one.

Yes, most Americans care and with good cause. When travelling abroad it helps to know the generally feeling of the country you are in so that you can conduct yourself accordingly. Also, were it not for the fact that people hate Americans (some do) 9/11 would never have occured. Why did that happen...because people like us and agree with our politics around the world? No. I am not saying kiss asss around the world - - I am saying be aware of it, care about it.
Peace (and I mean it this time!!)

I do, and so should every American
Why?
It's a global economy - learn Chinese
It's a global economy - don't be a hypocrit when you go buy cheap international goods
We can't push our agenda on the whole world. It's ignorance and arrogance that got us into the mess in Iraq
Oh, and all those nuclear warheads in Russia pointed at us - remember them?

As long as we continue to do what's right for freedom loving people we shouldn't care what they think. Our past president constantly stuck his finger in the wind to see which way the political breezes of public opinion were blowing, and consequently he was ineffectual as a world leader, but beloved by the folks who think that popularity is more important than doing the right thing. His wife isn't even able to do that.

Only the liberal left wing cares. The rest of America could care less. The euros alway pop off like we give a rat. Hell our for fathers left that place for a reason then built the greatest country the world has ever seen. The rest of the world should start caring a great deal what middle America thinks if they want to survive in a free market world economy.

Sometimes you should but quicindentally I just heard on the radio right now the same topic and a caller said "We should care about what others say or we would all end up walking around looking like slobs" but still in my case you shouldn't care if someone make an opinion about you because that shouldn't change you plus that could mean they are just jealous of you. :)
