Whenever I log onto my computer I get this error message: 'Updates from HP is unable to access its data directory. It is either invalid or unreachable, or there is another program accessing it.' I'm sure that there is a simple explanantion for this?!

I recommend contacting Hewlett Packard, at 1-800-474-6836, for software support. Or, check to see if the directory is read only, in properties under my computer. Or check for viruses. If you don't have an always on connection, try connecting, then updating.

Perhaps you need to be connected to the Internet for this to succeed. Try updating manually.

Look in the start up menu, if there is something to connect you to hp right click on it and delete it.
