80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

This is undoubtedly the most important question in our life, but unfortunately the least answerable during lifetime.

It is our life that gives meaning to our life.... therefore, while living our life, we are still in the process of learning... the answer would come out or be known to each of us only when we have lived though our life... I mean it is only in the final stages of life that we can realise it...
but there is no reason to feel depressed or worried on that account, because whoever gave us this precious life knows what it is for and will take enough care to ensure it fulfils the intended purpose.
In other words, whatever meaning our life has, we can safely leave it to itself to span out in such a manner as to ensure fruition... meanwhile all we need to do is to be alert and receptive towards the lessons it keeps throwing at us for our enhancement.

The meaning of life is to touch as many other lives as we can. If we run the race by ourselves, there is not much to look back on at the end of the day.
If we take the time to care for this world we live in, then there is hope. We are all individuals but a droplet makes the river..

"Meaning" implies usefulness. If something serves no purpose then we we say that thing is useless.
People can fill their lives with all kinds of usefull activities and leave a legacy that will last generations and impact millions of people.
But if, in the end, all humans simply cease to exist, is there really any usefulness to anything we do?
Apart from an Outside Entity (God) giving us a purpose and therefore meaning that will last past the destruction of Earth and humanity, we will be hard pressed to answer your question with any answer but "there is no meaning".

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

It isn't so easy to say what the meaning of life is.The question is - Do you believe in God?If yes, then you should know that you must live a good live to go to paradise. If you don't believe in God then there is no explanation to your question. but i think people should live for their children and next generation. you should take care about parents, friends and other people.

every individual's life is related to their personality, goals and character. so life basically for me is in line with my goals. i am ambitious and believe in meritocracy and hard work to get to the high pinnacles of the world, so my life is to work hard and achieve goals. similarly, if your ambition in life is to spread peace, then all the means u will use to achieveing it will be your life. so life consists of what you do with the number of years you live on the earth.
