Some theorists say they are an ancient race of extra terrestrial beings left behind in our solar system millenia ago! What do you reckon?

hummmmmm, extra terestrial beings left behind in our solar system millenia ago? well, i'm not sure about that. Would be cool if they were! But it begs the question, if they are extra terestrials left behind, surely they would have been made, less, ummmmm . . . . noticeable! I mean we are all aware of the stigma attached to the commonly referred to 'ginge' race! On a serious note, genetically their only difference would be in their hair colour, just the same as blondes are genetica;;y different from brunette. It is just one of those things. Although . . . i knew someone who is a ginge and also had a stcijky out belly button, so that is two clear signs of being an alien, so maybe that theory is right! lol.

Nix on the extraterrestrials here, but you are right they ARE genetically different. At least to the extent that their genes give them red hair, freckles, pale complections and blue eyes. They are genetically different than those who have brown hair, brown eyes or those who have black hair, black skin or whatever.

Obviously, there are genetic differences amongst all people, so "ginger" people would follow that rule.

Red hair appears in people with two copies of a mutated gene on chromosome 16 which causes a change in the MC1R protein. It is associated with fair skin color, freckles, and sensitivity to ultraviolet light, as the mutated MC1R protein is found in the skin and eyes instead of the darker melanin.
