Josephine de Beauharnais (1763–1814), first wife of Napoleon I. Was married first to Alexandre de Beauharnais, she wed Napoleon Bonaparte in 1796. The marriage was annulled (1809) because of her alleged infertility.
Marie Louise, second wife of Napoleon Bonaparte, was the daughter of Francis I, emperor of Austria, and of the princess Theresa of Naples. The marriage took place by proxy in the church of St. Augustine, Vienna, on the 11th of March 1810.
