Yes, if we continue to have big government like we do, than the deficit will continue to grow and cause future problems...Meg is right two future problems are Social Security and Medicare...her solutions are flawed
We must remove government from things that should be more privately regulated...the more that we involve government than the more that special intersts are valued over the good of the whole
We cannot know when problems will surface, but it could be avoided altogether if we move to freer markets and less government...

There are two major problems for the future federal budget. One is the predicted shortfall in social security which can and will be fixed with combination of higher taxes, higher retirement age, or lower benefits, when people decide what they want done. The second is the rising cost of medical care for the old, the poor, and increasingly, the middle class that are made poor by illness. This is a much more difficult problem because we feel that people should not die because they can not afford care, but with the improvements in medicine, it will become too expensive to provide care for everyone, and much of the population will not be able to pay their own.

The US is living bigger than it should. The country loans more that 3 billion dollars each DAY.
The loans are given by the Chinese and other big spenders in asia. When someone with a lot of dollars decides to sell everything, the dollar could drop in worth. This will cause panic and the dollar will fall.
Also the euro will fall and there will be a great economic depression like in the thirties.
When wil it happen? It could happen at this very moment. If the Chinese decide to sell all their dollars, the West will be in big trouble!
