Music broke down segregation because a lot of great music was being played at black clubs and the whites would go listen.

Eisenhower fit in with the 50's because he was a firm believer in letting business take care of the workers. And in the 50's, business was good.

The GI Bill made college education accessible to the masses. No longer was college for the rich only. It helped many colleges prosper and made it easier for even non-GI's to get to college.

Communist's stated plan is world conquest. The US stated plan is freedom. Those two ideals are incompatible. Communism spread quickly in the late 40's and early 50's. It spread so fast that many Americans were afraid the US would fall under Communism's iron rule.

The US believes in freedom. Communist countries don't allow freedom of speech, press or religion.
