Someone asked to leave their vehicle at my home for 1 week and then they were to return and pick it up. That was almost 7 months ago and i have not heard from the owner what so ever. Can he just come and get it at will or does it become mine after so much time

it definately does NOT become yours. however, you do have the right to have it removed from your property. if they intended on retrieveing their vehicle, they would have already.

there is however the possibility that they died, were incarcerated, or came upon other misfortune.

contact your local police, report it as an abandoned vehicle and they will remove it.

Generally this will depend upon your state and local DMV laws. However, if the vehicle is garaged on your property and the owner has no rights to the property and you have no liens on the vehicle, you are within every right to remove the car from your premises. Its a little harsh, but unless you have something worked out with the owner in a form of a contract, then that is about your only other option besides letting it rot on your property.

It still belongs to the owner. Do you have any way to contact him or his relatives and get the story on why it is still there?
If you can't get an answer to your questions, then call the police and have it towed off your property. The police will eventually sell the car at auction if the owner can't be notified, or doesn't pick it up and pay stowage fees. good luck
