Better CAR? Well, in terms, fully-loaded, the Ford Fusion out-performed the Camry in several tests (at least from what I felt), as well as the fact that if you want, you can get a Fusion in AWD if need be.

Really, my personal choice would be Fusion, if I had to pick one of the two. I think (althought the new Camry looks nice) that the Fusion is styled a lot nicer, and handled a lot better when I test-drove one.

But all-in-all, it comes down to personal opinion. The Camry may also cost a little less than the Fusion if money is a factor.

I chose the Fusion. Roominess was an important factor for me, and the Fusion was more roomy than the Camry in front, back and in the trunk. I also found I liked the styling better.

Ultimately, both should be excellent cars. Consumer Reports April auto issue gave both the Camry and Fusion their top buy recommendations, as well as top ratings in safety and predicted reliability.

As far as annoying things go with the Fusion, the turning circle is wider than you would expect. Also, I do not like the automatic climate controls. Fine if you like auto, but if you want to manually adjust things, like which vents to use or fan speed or temp, it's a pain in the rear.

Also gas mileage with the V6 tends to come in pretty low compared to the EPA sticker. I'm only averaging between 18 and 19, whereas EPA sticker says I should be getting 20 in the city alone.

Another thing to consider, the Fusion is made by Ford, an American company. Yes, it's assembled in Mexico, but the higher end jobs like designers, and the profits, go to Americans. Camrys may be assembled in the USA, but the higher end jobs and profits go to Japan. Of course, to further muddy the waters, many Americans own shares of Toyota stock. So there you go.

i think the fusion comes out on top in this one...better handling, nicer feeling car...although I think I like the exterior/interior of the camry better, the car itself feels too heavy and probobly could be better for acceleration and gas mileage
safety is something the camry is good for as well, with lots of air bags and such...but not everyone likes having 6+ airbags aimed at them when they crash...so personal preference
try and test drive both for yourself...toyota does have the reliability history as well...so that can factor in as well
