On my auntie's estate, i was known as Gypsy for some reason.
When i said to one of the kids, i bet you don't even know what a gypsy is, i get back 'yes i do, it's someone who sells pegs' lol lol

Still do. Suzy Q or just Suzy. Makes me laugh, as I'm in my 40s and it's nowhere near my real name.

I got the nickname Doctor Who while at University (before it was cool again sadly) because I knew all the songs from the different decades on the student union jukebox and it became cemented when we had a History seminar where the tutor brought out some objects for us to puzzle over and I recognised most and had a vague idea of the others. You can tell it was a primary teaching course. Any other students would have had less affectionate names for such questionable skills!

Yes I did; I still use the name "B-Rock" (short for Big Rock because of my height). At some point I was also known as "Tootsie" (not from the movie or candy) at one point.

I used to get Hillsy at school as my last name is Hills, but from being 18 onwards I get Tooly (not sure why).
Nicknames are great.
