I know this is totally wrong, but ever since the Virginia Tech incident, I can't even look at oriental people.

I love the Chinese Americans that I know. Why? Because they are very nice and generous people. I tutor the kids for two Chinese American families, and I adore the two little girls from the one family. I have had the privilege of nannying them through a couple of summers. We had great fun.
My job: I'm a professional underachiever. Ok, I taught for many years, but am currently working for an inventory company and tutoring children and editing papers.

I've never actually had much contact with any Chinese people. There are a lot of them in S. Spain where I live but none of them speak Spanish very well, and the ones who come here don't seem to speak English either. Hard to make friends when you can't communicate.

I've been learning Chinese for 4 years and so I have met many chinese people over the years. I really like them. They are very clever and hardworking and a good laugh.

Totally! The Chinese History is so rich with inventions (pasta, gunpowder, china (as in plates) ), Medicines (acupuncture, Chi Tai), philosophers, (Confucius). And this was when Europe/UK was still in the Dark Ages and NA was not even discovered!

I neither like, nor dislike any person based on their nationality - that's what they call racism.
I only know a few people of Chinese ancestry and I get on well with each of them - because of who they are and not where they are from.
