These are the things I would do as the Celtics' coach.

1. Forget about the attempt to be an up-tempo, run-and-gun team like Phoenix, Golden State, and Washington. Their 3 best players, Pierce, Jefferson, and Szczerbiak, are all better suited to a methodical, well-rehearsed half-court attack. Fast, athletic guys like Green, West, Tony Allen, and Rajon Rondo could provide energy off the bench. Ryan Gomes and Leon Powe would also both be better in a slower game. Pierce is the only player on the team that should ever look to create shots for himself in the half-court set. Other than him, all other shots should come from co-ordinated player and ball movement.
2. Put Kendrick Perkins on a diet, and dock him pay for "over-tipping" the scales. Send Green to the weight room.
3. Cut Telfair and Olowokandi
4. Green and Tony allen need to work on their ball-handling, West and Allen Ray on their play-making, Jefferson and Perkins on their mid-range game, and Rondo needs to shoot 1,000 jump shots every day.
5. I'd tell Pierce that this is his team, and to be more of a vocal and inspriational leader. This team is dying for leadership. That should be Pierce's job.

As I recall Paul Pierce promised the fans a trip to the playoffs next season, which i doubt. If you watched the Celtics this season, they had no fire in their play, as if they were used to losing already. That's one thing that should change. Al Jefferson is coming out of his shell and becoming a better player, which is a good sign. I would let go of Telfair, i just don't think he's worth the trouble. I'd still build my team around Pierce, they should also keep Delonte West, he's a tall point guard who shoots decent in all areas on the floor, and most importantly he plays defense. What to work on? Teamwork and defense. The Celtics has a lot of young talent and they have to work together for them to atleast make the playoffs.

First keep Pierce..period..then know their draft position..if they end up drafting 1st,pick Oden, trade jefferson for a solid PG..they dont need Big Al if they already have Oden..they need a truePG
If they end up picking 2nd then they would wound up picking Durant w/c is not that bad but they have too many wing players,Green,Pierce,Allen,Durant,if that happens then trade one of them for a PG or a Center

what honest criticism would you give each player?work out on their individual D
what would you tell them to work on this summer?their conditioning, too many injuries last season,Pirce,Allen
who would u cut and why?Cut?they should have fired Doc Rivers!!!
which players will you build your team around?if they end up having ODEN build aroung him.if they have Durant, they should run more bcoz they`ll have three slashers&high flyers,Truth,KD,GG that`ll be fun to watch
what will be your style of play?Run,run, run
what would you tell Paul Pierce in a candid conversation?you`ve done your share it`s time for management to bring the right coach&players to build around you..the east is pretty much wide open so the window of opprtunity is still there

i would say, honestly, we're not good enough. and i would tell tony allen never to try to dunk again after the whistle.
work on your free throw shooting over the summer.
cut telfair if they haven't already. also kendrick perkins.
good young players, and paul pierce. rondo looks like a good pg, and jefferson and gomes are keepers.
i'd play the triangle offense that phil used in LA a few years back.
i'll never have the chance to talk to paul pierce. but i would probably say why don't you go to the twolves with garnett so the best 2 players on bad teams will have a shot in the playoffs together.

I would probably dump everybody except Pierce and maybe Al Jefferson...would bring back Antoine Walker, draft Kevin Durant and trade for Greg Oden(maybe trade everybody that I said "dump" for the first pick in the draft)...Of course, then you would have to add players to fill out the whole roster...but building the team around Oden, Durant, and Pierce is the point...

Im moving to boston from phoenix this summer and all I can say is, I hope they take some kind of action so that I can look forward to game night. I don't want them to be my new "arizona cardinals". lol
