if the guy thinks that no problem will arise when he meets your friend, i'm sure he'll do so.
but since he decided against it, she just have to accept the guy's decision.
it is his choice & he has his own reasons.

I can only speak from my own experiences... When I was young, I married. He cheated and we grew apart after having one son and growing into our mid 20's. I remarried (sadly at 26) and was with someone who was not capable of an emotional bond, I cheated with a friend for comfort and attention, I do not regret it, I was divorced by age 30. Now, on 3rd marriage (at age 42) after being single in my 30's, I have matured and have found my soul mate. I would never cheat because we are honest and committed, and we would never let things get to the point of needing another or drifting apart emotionally.

i would say ..this man loves truely his g/f and thats y he dont want to take any chances and doesnt want to meet his old friend ..coz let me tell u ..even if we dont want ..accidents do happen..(im talking about sex ) so thats y he is taking precautions but then if ur friend wants him and herself to be just freinds then y not meet both of them ?? i mean that old friend of hers and his new girlfirend ..wouldnt that be a good idea ?? y meet alone ?? he is comitted to other girl now ..just doesnt make sense if she doesnt want to talk about some private things that they did or shared and i dont think he wants to share his old life with his old friend i.e ur friends..so meeting him along with his g/f would be a good idea..if ur friend doesnt want to meet him with his new gf ..then shes a player..tell her to get over him..he has a girl in his life ..

I commend the young man for not putting himself into the "temptation" bin. He knows his weakness and decided no to meet the long time friend.

She should respect him for that. Plenty of guys want to cheat. At least he is a decent guy.

thats really weird.
apparently he doesnt trust himself to be around your friend.
that can be either really good because you know he wont cheat on his girlfriend, or it can bad because he may have had past feelings for her that may not have gone away and yeah.
i dont know if that helps or not, but thatswhat i think.
