In order to take divorce from his wife he needs to fulfill any of the various grounds available to him under the enactment he got married with her. Secondly he cannot marry second time during the life time of his first wife unless he gets legal divorce from her otherwise he will be guilty of bigamy which if proved in the criminal proceedings in the competent court of jurisdiction can make him face punishment like imprisonment & fine.

As per IPC no divorce will be allowed when a wife is in pregnent. Though it is not possiable to marry second women unless he proves that his wife physical not fit for sexual life or having affiars with guys. Any how I suppose u r freind taking wrong step in this regard. What is the exact reason for divorce. 90% of the wife and husbend problems will solve with mutual understanding. Do not take harsh decisions. I suppose your second innings even more worse than this. My wise advise is be happy what u have in your hand. After 5 or 6 years u may realise what u lost.
