If God is omnipotent, then he doesn't need anything from us.
If God is benevolent, he'd want us to spend our time helping others rather than praying to him.

So then why would a good atheist go to hell and a bad theist go to heaven?

Considering that many people believe that God values faith and base their lives off of it, I think the question is highly relevant to our society.

I think it is a great question.... STAR!!

I must agree 100% with you that if indeed there is Heaven, it is the good atheist who would deserve it more and better than a merely faithful theist who spends much of his time in the church or temple or mosque.

However, faith in God does usually take a person on the good path, and in my view, faith in God can be of any value only if such faith directs us not to the premises of the Church or the Mosque or the Temple, and instead emphasises and takes us on the road to helping others.

The trouble is that even if faith does take us on the right path, it does so for the wrong reasons, on the assumption as though God would be pleased and would reward us. This path may be better than the evil path, but would certainly be inferior to the ideal one that an atheist may choose on the logic that if everyone thinks well of others and acts accordingly, it would result in maximising collective good and well-being!!

God values faith more beneficial than conception depending on information. If he did value conception depending on information he would have made himself seen that you ought to work out and sense him. guy has 5 senses which he makes use of to guage each and everything, although this is not adequate because it leads maximum individuals off objective. Atheists have genuinely denied God by utilising no longer accepting his life, so how can we anticipate to locate them in heaven, an section they have sworn they do no longer opt to study about.

1. Its true that God does not need anything from us however he created us to love us, for us to love each other, and for us to love God. (The bible says God is love)

2.God is benevolent and would rather we spent our time helping those in need then praying for selfish reasons. There are many who only pray for others and for God to show them how to help those in need, etc.

3. God gives us the choice to accept him or reject him, he has made it very clear that the only way to heaven is through the sacrifice that he made through Christ. This sacrifice forever bridges the gap between us and God if we choose to accept it. Just because you call yourself a theist does not save you (faith without the actions to back it up is empty) all these hypocrites out there will be the first to fall. Christ himself said those who claim to know me and continue to go on doing evil never new me at all. It is mans choice to choose God. If God had it his way all would be saved. But if we didn't have the choice then we could never truly love and that's all God wants anyway. true LOVE.

as it pertains to Christianity.

God is the father, and by the way, he's the one God (that all of the religions are trying to covet for their very own), when truth be told, all of us in the human race are His children.
Just like a father wants the best for his children, so does God. He hopes the children have had the good sense to heed His words (only, we know that is not quite true.... so does He)

I believe in reincarnation, that hell is on earth, that God is a loving God, allowing us more than one chance to make it to the promised land...which we call heaven.

Atheist or believer, it is what is in your heart and what you give to this world that will allow you into heaven, or to return you to hell.

To have faith in God is to know that He created and cares for you, that His ways are above ours and the best for us, even when we don't understand them.

It's almost synonymous with trust. Why does a parent value trust in a child? The child must trust the parent's best intentions for the child, even when it seems a great idea to run into the road or touch the fire. When the parent says "No!" he/she doesn't need the child to start protesting for all he/she is worth and holding resentment for correction. He/she needs the child to accept the parent knows best and has the child's welfare at heart.

Just like God with us.

You see, god is running the show. He got bored with just running it so he acted it instead. He god bored with acting so he lived it, then that got boring so he decided to live it and forget he was god. Religion is there so that we can remember who we are. Atheism is a rejection of religion, I wouldn't say that an atheist would go to hell; but I would say that science will eventually remind us of who we are as well. It already can if you look at ecology or even quantum physics.

Well, how do you define faith?, if you know that God -is-,
so you know, without having to believe., if you know the presence of God, then you know that he intended balance.
A balance would accrue in everything including helping others, we are not to put ourselves aside, because how else could we be of true help to others?, it would be easier to practise this by feeling a "little God" in each of us. inside.
and go from there. Balance is harmony, everybody would love to live in harmony, it does the soul good. I have to say that God values balance. just like we all eventually do :)

Just be yourself . You are God. Your creator wanted this way only. Now if you are god , do you need that silly faith. This is a meaningless issue created by so called representatives of God down on earth. Can somebody else be you?

Think over this . .. see , the light .. at peace with yourself.

God would value faith because it proves you believe in him. If you have faith then you believe and he would know that. In order to save your soul you need to believe that he has existed, exists and will exist. It doesn't seem fair that you live all your life without faith and not sure if God exists, then suddenly die and go to heaven and be rescued by him and then decide to have faith because you're in heaven with him. Having faith in God might be the ultimate goal in life. We must prove to God that we believe in him and therefore have faith in him. If we don't have faith in God and go to heaven than we don't deserve heaven because we would have never had faith that it existed or that God existed. We have all our life to decide to believe that God exists. Once we resolve that he exists we must have faith that he will listen to us, and faith means we believe in him. This is why God values it so much. Life is like an exam and there are two parts. One is to believe in God and have faith. The other part is to fallow his rules and help one another. We are like baby lamb in a pen. We are cute and adorable and seeing one hurt is a terrible sight. Of course God who is the hearder can heal a hurt baby lamb, but wouldn't it be better if another baby lamb had the power to help the hurt one. That would be so cute. God is all powerful and can help and cure any person on earth, but it makes him happy to see people care for others. God wants to see all his baby lambs cute and adorable. He cannot be there all the time to help if one does not have faith, and he loves to see people helping people, it makes him love those baby lambs even more. Remember, we are his babies and need him. Have faith.

God values faith because it makes people believe in somthing greater than themselves. If no one believed in an after life with rewards for the just and punishment for the wicked we would all be our own God only concerned with what will benefit ourselves. Faith instills in us a sense of morallity that we believe will carry us to a land free of pain and sorrow that we all look forward to one day
