As you know, Cabin fever is a state of mind, not doing much for a long period of time, makes you tired, listless and unimaginative.
You have to "recharge" you batteries by doing something completely different from normal.
1 Week at an all inclusive resort in the sun does it for me, but just getting out to a busy area I have not been to for a while or a good movie at a theatre and not on TV works too.

You do what you want to do to make you happy. Make sure you get out of the house more than you did this past season and plan on getting as much sunshine as you can. Bundle up and stay warm
As for going to the woods and getting fresh air. You can get your fresh air by opening a window. Mainly get out of your house before you go nuts.

"Cabin Fever" is a psychological disorder, akin to sensory deprivation, brought on as the result of insufficient stimuli. Doing anything that alleviates the boredom is preferable to going outside and taking Your frustration out on nature (like shooting small animals for "fun"), hence the fact that explorers took chess sets and jigsaw puzzles with then. The modern person might need twice the input that Our forefathers required in order to get through a week of doing nothing. It is a produce of Our life style.
