There are preventive measures. In some cases you may have to take a trip to the Doctor. It is very probable you can cure it on your own. I suggest reading the "Natural Cure for Yeast Infection" .

Ah! I relate to you sister! I got married and spent the rest of the 25 years married having severe yeast infections! As long as I had sex, I had them! But I did NOT have that issue with a previous boyfriend...My solution is: the man has the yeast condition and his liquids are giving them to you...the friction may cause irritation if you are new to this which may also increase the flare up.
I have not had sex for a year or so now and I also have not had any yeast infections during that time.
You do have to look at your body...do you get yeast infections in your mouth (thrush), ear infections, sinus infections, bad armpit smell or have a constant "fishy" smell to your groin area and white stuff on your undies? If this is normal, they you have the high yeast condition and having sex and the irritation just brings it out more. Contact me if you want more help on this issue...I have info on the things you can do to help your body clean out yeast, etc. Sandra

are you diabetic? yeast doesnt usually come from sex unless he had sex with an infected woman like yesterday, but yeast infections come mostly from your hands, yours or his, so make the guy wash up before he touches you and you always wash before touching yourself, and after. that helps stop the infection, also stay dry, use cotton undies only, change at least once a day, maybe its from having sex and leaving all that stuff in you and going to sleep, i always get up and wash up then go back to bed, and never wear undies in bed, let a bit of air get to your body. if you are diabetic you will get lots more yeast infections because your body cant fight them off very well, so get your blood sugar level checked too.

I had this problem in my early 20s but oddly enough I never have this anymore. I really got tired of having to use those nasty creams and going to the gyn so I did some research and discovered that if I took acidophilus probiotics 2 x day the problem went away. For more on acidophilus visit:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactobacillus_acidophilus
The best one is at GNC and it's a lot less expensive than Monostat
Do see a Dr. to make sure yeast is really the problem.

Well stop having sex right now. And go see a gyn. You may have a pH balance problem down there and you can fix that. Our girly parts are mysterious in the way they work and they can have a mind of their own. All it takes is a bad day and we can get problems. So i would go and make sur that a yeast infection is really your problem. Good luck!

Your partner may be the source. And when you have sex more often the lining of the vagina can become abraded, making it easier for the organisms to grow. If your prone to yeast infections you should be treating your partner at the same time as yourself. Even if he is symptomless, he can give it back to you causing you to have symptoms again.

*Drink plenty of water.
*wash up before and after sex (you know what I am talking about)
*Consider a new means of contraception....perhaps if you're using some kind of spermicidal jelly, it is changing your pH down there and predisposing you to this condition.
* Add yogurt to your diet to counteract the overgrowth of bad yeast with good bacteria.

Become a Nun, or ask your guy to stop stirring the yeast with his wiener.

See an MD a.s.a.p. And, try this for New Year's
resolution; it is never too late to make one, you
know. Think: "abstinence, til further notice."
You'll be glad you did.
Best of health & good luck.
