Hey i'm doing a science fair project, and my question that I came up with is; can an egg float without it's yolk?

Answer please, and list some sites, resources or reasons why it can/can't.

Thank you.

yes, because this would make the egg less dense, so it would float. You can try that as an expirament.

Probably not, but I am not sure how you get it out.
The yoke has fat, which commonly floats on water.
"Proof" If water is brought almost to boiling (but not rolling) and an egg is broken into a spoon or bowl and gently lowered into the water, the yoke will stay near the surface and the white will drift down and turn white as it cooks.
In an unbroken fresh egg, there is an air sack which tends to make the egg float more than the yoke does. This bubble shrinks with time and I would expect a 2 week old refrigerated egg, still edible, to sink.
