My girlfriend is 15 years old. They verbally abuse her constantly. She is not allowed to see me, her friends or anyone else. Her parents only allow her to leave the house for school. Or if her and her parents are going together or if she is with her family members to do errands or watch the kids.

Her parents also make her work all day. She has to clean things, watch the dog. She has to watch the kids when family is over all the time. She has to get her parents Ice for there glasses etc. She is kept from her homework, and stays up till 12-4 am on school nights working. She has been in pain from doing work before and is forced to continually work or will be 'kicked out'.

About a year ago she got introduced to drugs and her parents not only let her drink but bought her alcohol on several occasions. She no longer does it thank god but still, I know that is against the law.

I dont know if this is legal or not, and want to know if it is in the state of California, what should I do? Thanks

1st of all it isn't. Child labor laws clearly state that kids must be paid for anything other then chores. She is clearly not doing chores. If there is verbal abuse then you should call child protective services. Have them investigate. Have your gf tell them whats going on. They will how ever find a new home for her and the siblings. Please do this for her. Call child protective services. you can google the number closes to you.

have her confide in a respected adult. Like a school counselor or contact the Child Welfare department for California

Call the local Child welfare office, and don't tell them she is your girlfriend, just tell them you know her from school, and that she confided in you about her home problems, and remain anonymous.
