Prisoners aren't slaves. They SHOULD be forced to work to pay back the money that the government spends (with taxpayer money) to clothe, feed, shelter, entertain, and "rehabilitate" them.

By committing crimes, they've forfeited their rights to the same freedoms that law-abiding citizens and residents are entitled to enjoy.

Work in prison is a priviledge. you can decide not to work and rot in your cell all day. Simple choice.
